The School Year - Getting Off To A Good Start

There are many things you can do to prepare yourself for school, and I am going to give you a list of things to do to succeed, get good grades, maintain positive relationships with family and friends, as well maintain your extra curricular activities.

First of all, get materials and school supplies. Go with your parents or friends, and go buy notebooks, pens and pencils (get some red pens too, for grading your work during class), calculators and paper.

Organize your notebook into sections for each of your different classes. I prefer to have my own spiral notebook for each individual class, so I stay focused on the task at hand, when I am in a specific class. Binders with the "flap" on the inside, are really good keeping paperwork the teacher gives you like the syllabus, and long-term projects assigned in the beginning of the year.

Next, you are going to want to do some extra-curricular activities. Activities are a good way to make friends, relieve stress, and it will ultimately make you more successful. It will help you get into the college of your dreams, along with a great GPA and SAT of course.

So how are you going to get a great SAT score, and a high GPA? Well, I don't mean to sound bias, but an effective, private tutor can be one of your greatest assets. If you have the means, getting a professional tutor to come to your home once or twice a week will help you in all of your classes dramatically. A tutor from Tried & True Tutoring is someone that is a professional. When we say professional, we mean someone that has mastered the material, knows effective teaching methods, looks professional, speaks well, and will definitely be able to help you master the art of learning.

Anyway, I don't have too much time now, but as long as you stay focused and organized you will have a great school year!
