1 on 1, In-Home Private Tutoring - Better Than The Classroom

A quick synopsis of Marc Meinhardt - the writer of this article.

4.29 High School GPA
1470/1600 SAT (With No Test Prep)
UCLA Psychobiology Graduate (Pre-Med)
California Chemistry Teaching Credential (Post-Graduate Work Completed)
3 Years of Classroom Teaching Experience (Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
15 Years of Private Tutoring Experience (Elementary, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Single Variable and Multivariable Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, SAT Preparation, ACT Preparation, LSAT Preparation, GRE Preparation, TOEFL Preparation, ISEE & SSAT Preparation, ASVAB Preparation, etc.)

If I had received consistent private, 1 on 1 in-home tutoring, there is no telling what an amazing success I would be today.

As a teacher, the downfalls of teaching 40 students at one time is blatantly obvious - you can lecture to the masses, but you can not provide 1 on 1 support to all of your students in the class every day. For all you math wizards out there, 50 minute classes, 40 students per class, = 1.25 minutes per student. However, you don't get 50 full minutes of instruction. How about roll call, handing in homework, paperwork shuffling, management issues, etc. You are lucky if you get 45 seconds of teaching per student.

So how do teachers work around this problem? Simple. They preach and lecture to the masses. The teacher's hope is that enough students understand the process of various problems, and that they are able to assist their fellow classmates. However, even the few students that "understand" the Chemistry or Physics content from class, most just understand the process rather than the concept. Not only that, they are not professional teachers and really have no experience or expertise in training and teaching others. This is a sad case of the blind leading the blind.

If a student has an expert tutor watching his every process and move when working on problems, there is so much help that can be bestowed upon the student. The one-on-one environment allows the teacher to correct and modify every single process the student makes. Not only can you affect his learning for the specific class, but our tutors, skilled and experienced tutors, are able to modify the student's way of thinking, way of organizing, and way of approaching problems which will yield benefits that will last for the rest of the student's academic career.

Having a private mentor with you all the time is not inexpensive. How could it be? Not only is it like a personal assistant, but it's an expert in a certain field. Although private tutoring can become costly, it is no where near the expenses of a private school, which offers something of much less value than private tutoring.

Not all private tutoring is created equal. Students teaching students is very common, however Tried & True Tutoring does not employ anyone who doesn't have a college degree, or working on a degree from a prestigious university. Tried and True Tutoring does not employ anyone without tutoring experience. Tried and True Tutoring does not employ unreliable, immature tutors. Tried and True Tutoring goes through a rigorous process to select only the cream of the crop; and even after that, we rigorously train each and every one of our tutors. I always tell my tutors, "If you can learn to teach like me, we will both be extremely successful".

To increase your student's confidence, skill level, organizational skills, grades, college acceptance letters, and anything else related to academic success, then go with a Tried and True tutor. Their skill and experience will be evident during the first session, as well as every subsequent session. Our tutors will take your academic skill and success to new heights. Listen, if you need basic homework help or a few last minute questions, then maybe you can can get the correct answers from an inexperienced tutor who knows the content, but if you are really trying to change your future, and bring your success to heights you've never thought possible - go with Tried and True Tutoring. Don't waste your money on a inexperienced tutor - invest in a professional tutor - invest in your future. Visit www.triedandtruetutoring.com for more information.

October SAT - 1 Week Away!

It is about that time of year where students will be taking one of the most important tests of their lifetime - the SAT. Are you excited?

Tried & True Tutoring is very excited for the upcoming SAT, because we have been working with 100's of students, preparing them to completely dominate the exam. Our proven techniques have been raising our student's practice scores dramatically, and they are ready to implement these strategies on the real thing!

If you didn't sign up for the October SAT, or you didn't get the preparation you need and deserve, do not worry; November 3rd is another opportunity for you to take the exam. You can take the test up to 3 times without colleges "frowning upon" it. You probably don't want to take the exam more than that, because eventually your scores lose their credibility.

We are extremely excited for the exam, and know that our students are itching to take it. If we're this excited, we can't imagine how excited our students are. When you know your about to achieve greatness, you are nervous, but more excited than anything else.

We are both nervous and excited for our students, but we look forward to helping them achieve their dreams. Our private 1 on 1 in-home private tutoring is the best education that you can receive - better than public or private schools. Our teachers are highly qualified, experienced, and you will be able to have them all to yourselves. The progress we make with our students is unmatched in the industry, because our tutors are trained by real professional teachers. We know the difference between classroom learning, and 1 on 1 privatized instruction. We've done it, we've taught it, and we are just waiting for your call, so we can help you achieve academic success now, and for the rest of your academic career. Visit www.triedandtruetutoring.com for more information.

5 Weeks into the School Year

Some of our students are finally getting that dreaded 5 week report card. Many schools don't send out a 5 week report card anymore, and parents have to remember to check their child's grade online. Even still, around this time of year many frantic parents call us, because their child is failing one of their courses.

It is better to start with a private tutor for math and science before it is too late. The math skills you will learn from a good private tutor is invaluable. The skills, organization, and strategies that are taught by our tutors are not only going to benefit the student in his Algebra 2, Calculus, and Chemistry courses, but also going to benefit them in the future; during more rigorous courses like Physics.

SAT preparation is also something that many panicked parents call about when it is too late to help them. They want a massive score increase of their child, but they call a few weeks before the exam. No one can expect a student to increase his score much when there are only a few weeks left to prepare, especially on top of the normal course load that they are buried with.

SAT Prep should be started a minimum of 10 weeks before the exam. For any information about the SAT exam, college applications and resumes, and also any academic subjects, please feel free to call us at 747-444-9907. We would be happy to give you he advice that you need, to help your student reach a level of success that you have only dreamed of.

Chemistry, Statistics and Physics

Here at Tried & True Tutoring we understand the needs of our students. Some parents like to get their children tutoring before the school begins, so that they know they will have the support they need when classes become more rigorous.

Others, namely college students, wait until they are in trouble before reaching out to tutors. The subjects most commonly needed around this time of year are Chemistry, Statistics, and Physics.

Here at Tried & True Tutoring we have the best quality Chem, Stats, and Physics tutors for an affordable rate. The best thing to do is link up with a professional tutor when the struggles begin, rather than getting one when massive remediation needs to be done. If you get a tutor at the first sign of struggle, or even before that, then your chance of succeeding with an A or B is much higher.

We have curriculum designed, along with well-spoken, reliable, professional tutors, who can help you in the subjects you are struggling with. If you need any help at all, give us a call, and we will give you a quote, and the specifics about the tutor you will be working with, right over the phone. Visit www.triedandtruetutoring.com for more information.

3 Weeks Until The October SAT

With 3 weeks left until the October SAT, we have a lot of panicked parents and students calling us for immediate SAT tutoring.

I have a good news for some of you high school seniors out there, who may be unaware of this fact. Even though you have to finish applications before November (for most schools), your SAT scores from November and December will still be sent to the universities you are applying to. College admissions will take into account November and December SAT scores before accepting and declining potential applicants. What does this mean for you?

Take a deep breath, and start prepping methodically for your November and December SAT tests. Remember, most colleges frown upon students who take the SAT exam more than 3 times. After that, it seems that students will have artificially high scores, and universities won't give your 2200+ score as much merit as they would have, had you gotten there in three tries. Three tends to be the magic number. You do not want to take the SAT exam more than three times.

Having said that, take as many practice tests as you can! Practice makes perfect. Our SAT Program is perfectly designed, with the right balance of in-home private tutoring, hours of homework, and practice tests in order to maximize your score on the SAT.

A good idea is to start prepping for the December SAT right away! Don't wait. Also, if you've already signed up for the October SAT, the preparation you do for the December SAT is going to help you on the October SAT as well. Get started soon. Go to www.triedandtruetutoring.com for more information, or call us at (747) 444-9907. We are available 24/7 for all tutoring inquiries.

Good luck studying! Visit www.triedandtruetutoring.com for more information.
