I thought you may interested in hearing about an educational company in America that is privatizing specialized education in response to the the sea of problems like overcrowded classrooms, high drop out rates, and low employment after graduation that our current education system is facing.
What they have done is truly unique. They meet with students 1-on-1 in the student's home, and after initial assessments they customize curriculum based on the individual student's needs.
As a teacher, I find this program inspiring. In my classroom, we have over 40 students and our class length is 50 minutes. With roll call, paper shuffling, and management issues, I probably get around 35 minutes of actual instruction. This is less than one minute per student, so therefore I have to do the only thing I can do - preach to the masses. This is the only way to fit all of the information into this short period of time.
Tried & True Tutoring however, is taking all 50 minutes and dedicating it to one individual student. Their curriculum is customized to fit each individual's learning curve, speeding up and slowing down when appropriate.
What I really like about Tried & True Tutoring is that they are able to customize curriculum for students with special needs. They work with students with various learning disabilities including autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and Asperger's syndrome.
It has been extensively researched, and it has been concluded that individual private instruction is far more effective than a classroom environment, since each student can be corrected before developing destructive habits.
Anyway, if you would like contact them, call Jonathan at Tried & True Tutoring. His number is (747) 444-9907. I am sure he would happy to talk to you and tell you all about their programs - I really believe they are pioneering an educational shift in America.
